My new solar dryer rocks!

I am sure you will be intensely interested in my new solar dryer, the one that I got from Amazon and mentioned in a previous post.  I know, I know, it seems old-fashioned, but this thing turns in the wind and leaves clothes soft and NO ELECTRICITY use on my bill for it!  I pictured a bear I love who just lost her ability to sing, and some gorgeous roses I got for valentine's day!

I know for sure why I keep creating items, particularly fireflies!

     After having a rather difficult week I got the following feedback from a new Etsy customer:

"My artistic dad passed away in January. He was a fan of Fireflies. I was looking to have something to wear in remembrance. I came across your site and found the necklace with the words "Shine On" which is what I will try to do. Even more beautiful in person. I will adore it and cannot wait to wear it to work tomorrow. RN working in Transplant. I thank you a million times and will wear your beautiful art with a smile. Thank you ... thank you."      I have been striving to release the fireflies in my soul and although it is difficult to keep on shining at times, this customer showed me why I keep carrying on!  For a picture of the "Shine On" firefly, see earlier post or go to my Etsy shop.      If anyone ever reads this post, I hope it encourages you!

Will this work? Trying to add from my Etsy shop...

I tried and believe now I have added my Etsy shop to the side bar.  I didn't want a lot of blank whiteness on the right, though, so am trying to edit in some text.  I  am no techie, and it is sooo obvious!  On preview I see there is still alot of "white noise"..I guess I will just take a nap, then!

Early morning musings..

     So I looked around at other blogs for a few minutes and  see quite a variety, I must say.  The other day I saw one that included some very darkly sad comments about a little boy who it seems must have passed away.  I quickly left as I felt I was eavesdropping.  Others have tons of pictures of their children.  I think, mostly, that people may not be that interested in other people's children, or what you ate for breakfast...as I posted on a photographer's blog, unless something quite unusual was eaten, or something frightfully funny happened while you were eating it!  Having such attitudes is doubtless going to leave me alone here in this room, cat on lap, drinking cold coffee...Oh well, I like privacy anyway...A subject for another day.  Meanwhile I want to go find my copy of Deepak Chopra's book The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.  I used to read a chapter a day and was getting amazingly creative!

Butterflies, ladybugs and dragonflies..

..all had to start somewhere on the popularity scale.  Now is the time for the fireflies!  Fireflies are an animal totem to the American Indians and are thought to light one's way, bring clarity to situations, and are a very positive totem.  I began creating handmade fireflies about 3 years ago and  they are loved by all who have acquired them.  I will show you a picture of one that is now in my Etsy shop.  Join with me in welcoming the firefly into the mainstream!  One day I will tell you just how magical and wonderful the firefly really is!

I thought you might like to see a "Go Green" captured fairy..

She was sold on Etsy awhile back.  I miss her, but enjoyed knowing her for a time.  She had quite an attitude, really, and sometimes I had to take a deep breath and just stand back and give her space.  I will try to upload a picture of her...

Yes, here it is- the picture of her- and now she is living somewhare in France!  I wonder if she lives anywhere near Johnny Depp...hmmmm

Firefly asks: Is there life after a medical career and what is a domestic goddess?

     Fireflygirl777 has a plan.  The plan includes a long road, a walking stick, a bottle of water and a cell phone.  The cell phone is the only piece of technology allowed on this trek, and is for safety reasons only. The items are taken on a two mile walk each day.  Stunned at being out of the job market, she calculates her options.  Options are: Expand arts and crafts business on Etsy and try to sell through local shops, expand role as Domestic Goddess and redefine what that means and what it does not mean, and last but not least, try to "go green" or at least a little greener!

     Dimly recalled were years of hanging out clothes on a clothesline- could almlost conjure up the smell of freshly washed clothes and linens.  The internet was searched for a starting point for getting the world's BEST clothesline.  The search seemed endless...then happened on Amazon and Breezedryer, a product produced back when...well, back far enough that most of you cannot remember..Having reviewed the item for what seemed like a month, finally it was ordered and installed.  Fabulous is not a good enough word for it!  Talk about cutting electricity costs!  The item has been used in Australia, New Zealand and Europe for over 50 years. 
    
     Asked if my friends and neighbors would be jealous and responded,"If they are not, they SHOULD be!"  It is a great starting point for going green.  I will get some of my own pics on here soon to show you the little party I had with my bear and my new SOLAR DRYER.
